Welcome to the home page of the Natural History Museum Branch

Prospect has real influence here at the Natural History Museum and the employer recognises the positive role of unions in the workplace. We have formal recognition as being representative of the collective staff interest for specialist grades at the Museum (curators, conservators, learning specialists, scientists etc). Significantly, we have the right to negotiate on your pay and terms and conditions of employment and to be consulted formally on many other issues affecting staff - including restructuring proposals, personnel policies and procedures, and potential redundancies

Important information for new employees:

Unions at the Museum have helped to get full Museum Sick Pay rates reinstated for new staff.  Management had removed Museum Sick Pay for new staff in 2006 so it's been a long battle!
