Yesterday the Irish Congress of Trade Unions took the decision to close their office in Belfast for a period of two weeks from Monday 16th March, as a result of the ongoing issues with the spread of the Covid-19 virus. As Prospect's Belfast is located in the ICTU Office this effectively means the Prospect Office will also close.

Prospect members at SONI, which operates the electricity grid in Northern Ireland, made a donation to charity as a way of thanking their full-time negotiator for her support during difficult pay negotiations with the company.

Engineering and shipbuilding unions have launched a campaign to save 40,000 shipbuilding jobs being put at risk by the government’s decision to put naval contracts out to international competition.
