Branch S440: Scottish Power

Scottish Power

Prospect is a trade union recognised by Scottish Power. This means that we negotiate on behalf of members on issues of pay, pensions, terms and conditions of service and change proposals as well as providing individual support to members.

We represent staff in supervisory, technical, engineering and managerial posts throughout the Scottish Power group. There are currently more than 1,100 Prospect members in the branch. We represent members on individual contracts as well as those on a collective agreement.

The branch is organised into sections which mirror the management structure of the group. The branch negotiates separate terms and conditions of employment in the main businesses, energy networks and energy retail as well as interacting on broader policy issues at group level.

Our branch committee is elected at an annual delegate conference which usually takes place in November. Committee meetings are held quarterly and representatives meet regularly with the company via formal negotiating and consultative forums.

We have a wide network of experienced representatives, in Scotland and in Merseyside and north Wales, working hard on behalf of members to improve terms and conditions, maintain high standards of safety and promote learning opportunities.
