Prospect National Secretary Anne Douglas said: “This is a rumour that has been kicking about for a while, so we are not that surprised. However, we are very disappointed and will make sure that our members are looked after in this period of uncertainty.”

The decision could affect more than 1,000 Prospect members working in London, the south and east.
