Anywhere Working Week begins...

Following hot on the heels of Work Your Proper Hours Day - and I hope you all did! - this week marks what Anywhere Working (a recently launched organisation about which we have written earlier news items) is describing as Anywhere Working Week (link taken from the Anywhere Working blog).

The purpose behind Anywhere Working Week is to encourage people to reconsider the way they work and imagine how they might work differently, or a little more flexibly, in the name of - essentially - your well-being, the environment, your pockets and even your own productivity.

Prospect homeworkers know already some of the benefits of these things - although the union is certainly not ignoring some of the difficulties that may also arise (which, to my mind, would encompass the promotion of the beach as a place to work, as Anywhere Working is wont to do. It simply is not). Nevertheless, Anywhere Working is doing generally good things to promote the notion of flexible working initiatives and it may be that Prospect members who are not currently working from home on a regular basis might find something interesting to consider during this week.

This might well include an Anywhere Working kit, three of which are being offered this week to those who offer the best tips on anywhere working.

Just as long as the winning entries don't include working on the beach...
