AWE workers stage pay protest

Members at AWE have sent a clear message to management over their pay dispute, with a huge lunchtime protest held on 23 November.

Over 600 members attended a mass meeting outside Aldermaston. Their protest received wide coverage from local and national media.

Members are furious over the company’s offer for 2010 pay. Negotiator Bob King said that employees at AWE were simply looking for a fair deal.

Since Prospect announced that members would take industrial action there has been daily meetings with AWE management but without any movement from the company on its offer.

Prospect has now told the company that its members will be taking strike action on December 1.
