WPD members accept 2016 and 2017 pay offer

Prospect members have overwhelmingly accepted Western Power Distribution's 2016 and 2017 pay offer

Following constructive negotiating, Prospect members have overwhelmingly voted to accept the Western Power Distribution pay offer for 2016 and 2017. This is in response to Prospect's recommendation to accept the offer.

You may know by now that union members have overwhelmingly accepted the Western Power Distribution 2016 and 2017 pay offer.

The pay award represents one of the best awards achieved by unions, not just in the electricity industry but across other industries.  It also reflects members contributions to the on-going success of WPD in salary increases significantly above inflation.

We have had a series of good negotiated outcomes on pay and also on including overtime in holiday pay for example, and these are directly as a result of you and your colleagues supporting the union.  In thanking you and your representatives for helping Prospect grow the union can I ask that all members continue to remind colleagues that our success and theirs lies in strong union membership.

This year we agreed to ballot members electronically or through the post where we did not have a home email address.   This is not Prospect's usual practice and we reserve the right to ballot electronically in line with union policy.  If you are receiving this news item on your work email address please update your record with a home email address so we can ballot you electronically in the future.
