TUC London demo: change to travel arrangements from north

If you are travelling from the north west to tomorrow's TUC March for a Future that Works, please be aware that The Train Chartering Company has cancelled trains at the last minute that were booked by the National Union of Teachers, potentially leaving thousands of people stranded.

The reason the company gave was the inability of their contractor to provide enough drivers, and despite strenuous efforts by the NUT nationally, with the assistance of train drivers' union ASLEF, it has not proved possible to secure the trains.

This cancellation does not affect the trains from the region chartered by Unite, UNISON, RMT and ASLEF, as these were not booked through The Train Chartering Company.

Any Prospect members booked on the NUT trains from Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster and Preston are advised to urgently contact the relevant local NUT division or the NUT regional office, for an update and alternative travel options. Click here for NUT regional contact details.

If you know any Prospect members in the North West might be booked on these trains, please help share this message with them so they can make alternative travel arrangements.
