TUC seeks support for unemployed workers’ centres

The TUC has launched a national appeal for organisations, including other trade unions, to support the vital work of the TUC-recognised unemployed workers' centres.

These centres don't just help unemployed and disabled people to get the benefits they need to survive. They run training courses and other services to help their clients into jobs and out of poverty.

Cuts in local authority funding are threatening the services provided by many centres, with some forced to close and others at risk of closure. This is happening as unemployment is likely to rise in the months ahead.

You can find out more about the work they do on the TUC website and also download a directory of 36 centres it supports in England and five union-linked centres in Scotland.
