Prospect National Lottery Community Fund
Become a Prospect Advocate
Prospect Advocates are members who prefer to contribute more informally or who feel they might not currently have the time or confidence to take on a formal elected rep role. The roles allow interested members to play a vital advocacy role as a local contact in our workplace or as an expert to support the branch.
These roles are not an elected position and no training is required. The role is a good way for members to gain experience or build confidence before making a further commitment. There are no expectations set against any of these duties as the branch welcomes whatever contribution members are able to make.
Prospect Workplace Advocates
The tasks for our Workplace Advocates could include:
- Being a point of contact between members and the branch
- Recruiting new members or introducing new employees to a branch rep
- Supporting members at work by advising them on where to seek assistance
- Keeping notice boards up to date
- Supporting branch promotional events
- Distributing branch information to members.
Prospect Young People Advocates
For members who would be interested in building a young workers union role at the Fund.
The Young Peoples Advocate could support by:
- Recruiting new members or introducing new employees to a branch rep
- Making sure issues of concern to young workers are raised by the branch
- Distributing branch information to young members
- Encouraging involvement in young members campaigns/events
