Why Join Prospect at the IPO?
Prospect is one of three unions recognised at the IPO, and negotiates terms and conditions on behalf of our members.
In May 2013, Prospect won an increase of £8000 to the bottom of the C2 span, with increases up to the target rate for many C2 staff including senior patent examiners.
This was a major result for our pay campaign, showing what union members can acheive when they act together through industrial action, campaigning and legal challenge.
Since 2014 IPO has been part of a "total paybill pay pilot" which has given IPO more freedom on pay and enabled better offers that the Civil Service remit guidance limits over this time. Prospect, with the other unions has successfully pushed for IPO to maxiise the offers they have made and to retain this freedom by staying in the pilot beyond the initial 3 years.
