Dounreay
Prospect is one of three unions at Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd and has nearly 300 members making it the largest union at Dounreay. The Dounreay Prospect branch works closely with the other two company recognised unions through the trades union co-ordinating committee.
Prospect members include administrators; chemists; supervisors; managers; nurses; fire and ambulance officers; technicians; engineers; geologists; and other specialists.
The branch committee is elected at the annual AGM which is normally held at the end of January / beginning of February. It currently comprises 13 reps including a chair; vice chair; treasurer and secretary. Of these six are safety reps and three are union learning reps.
Committee meetings are generally held monthly, normally in advance of human resources trade unions meetings which provide a forum for the lead reps from each union to discuss issues with management. Some Prospect reps are also involved in the Thurso and Wick Trades Council.
