Events will take place throughout England and Wales promoting the benefits of trade unions and raising their profile at work, in their communities and online.

Prospect would like to encourage workplace reps and members to use the week to show the difference that being a member makes to their working lives and inspire non-members to join.

Some suggested activities are:

• display a poster encouraging people to join us – you can download customised Prospect Heartunions posters as PDFs from our website
• hold a leafleting session or recruitment stand at lunchtime – the TUC has produced leaflets to download, as well as badges, T-shirts, pens and emery boards on sale for a small price
• take a photo with a group of members in your workplace holding one of the heartunions posters and share it on Facebook or Twitter – remember to include the hashtag #heartunions and Twitter handle @ProspectUnion so that more people see it
• organise a social get together in your workplace.

On Thursday 9 February at 12.30pm the TUC is organising a Big Workplace Meeting right across the country. Wherever you are, you can tune in via the website at www.heartunions.org and watch a live broadcast via YouTube of TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady and a special guest. People will be able to send in questions via Twitter.
