Teachers' pension scheme survey

Teachers' pension scheme survey

We want your views on Pension Taxes after pension tax bill balloons for members of teachers’ pension scheme.

Prospect represents leaders, managers and specialists across the public sector who are increasingly seeking support for help with understanding tax charges such as the Lifetime and Annual Allowance.

Prospect Pensions Officer, Stewart Mott has created a survey so that we can collect data on the impact of the pensions tax regime on our members, how it affects their careers and the delivery of public services.

Prospect Freedom of Information requests have revealed that the amount of Annual Allowance charges paid by members of the Teacher’s Pension Scheme ballooned from £2.5 million in 2016/17 to £10.6 million in 2017/18. The data from 2018/19 shows that this has increased to £12 million.

This survey is going out to members across Prospect but we are very eager to hear from our leading school improvement professions and those in assistant director and director posts in Education Services.

This will help inform our policy on this matter and could form part of an evidence base for us to lobby government.

You can complete the survey at this link here.
