BT full year results identify lack of engagement as strategic threat

Prospect urges the company to sit down with the union

Commenting on BT’s full year results Noel McClean, national secretary at Prospect said:

“BT’s full year results correctly identify insufficient people engagement as a risk to the company achieving its strategic objectives.

“In Prospect’s recent ballot, over 96% of the BT management and professional population who voted, rejected the company’s proposals for new pay and grading arrangements.

“Philip Jansen has previously said that good companies are built from the inside. We agree with this. Organisational change on the scale BT is proposing is rarely successful when you don’t take people with you and BT has thus far completely failed to do so. We urge the company to sit down with Prospect and resolve the outstanding issues.”
