Prospect set to discuss detailed offer with Scottish airports group

Prospect set for talks with Scottish airports group HIAL over detailed offer

Prospect will today hold talks with Scottish airports group HIAL over a detailed written offer to resolve a six year-long dispute over the unequal treatment of security staff.

“We welcome this offer and are hopeful that it will lead to a final written offer that we can recommend to members,” said Alan Denney, Prospect national secretary.

Progress has been made since Prospect members in security company AMSL held a 48 hour strike following the Easter weekend break.

In the six years since HIAL brought security in house, management has failed to agree equal pay, holidays, and sick pay for AMSL’s airport security workers.

Prospect represents more than 120 of AMSL’s 160 workers covering eleven Scottish airports including Dundee, Inverness, Stornoway and Sumburgh.
