The awards reception and launch will be held on Monday March 4 at the House of Commons Terrace Pavilion from 12.15 - 3.00 pm.

In support of his nomination for the award Sue Ferns, Prospect's Director of Communications and Research said: "During his 14 years as General Secretary of Prospect, Paul Noon made a major contribution to developing the TUC's response to climate change. 

"Before retiring in December 2012, Paul was the TUC's lead spokesperson on energy and environment, representing over six million workers in Britain. During this time he co-chaired the Trade Union Sustainable Development Advisory Committee and represented the TUC on the Green Economy Council, a body bringing together government, industry and the third sector to support the transition to a low-carbon economy.

"As a result of Paul's efforts to develop greener workplaces at the grassroots level, funding was also secured to train union environment representatives."
