New careers and skills website for professionals

Prospect launches new careers and skills website for professionals

A new Prospect website designed to fill the gap in careers information and advice for professionals will be launched on Tuesday 13 May.

Careersmart, which was developed by Prospect, focuses on careers and skills. It will offer impartial information on a range of subjects, including career progression, pensions, self-employment and CV writing.

It also offers tools such as a career skills audit, a salary calculator and a salary checker

Prospect’s learning services officer Rachel Bennett said: “We ran a survey of 13,000 professionals which indicated that they were looking for information and advice on a huge range of issues, including career progression, types of employment and pensions.

“The volume of information sought by the target audience (people aged 25-45 plus) meant that a responsive website – where pages automatically adjust to smartphones and tablets – would be the most effective delivery platform.”

Users will also be able to download any of Prospect’s 30-plus career development podcasts.

The site complements Prospect’s Apprenticeship App, which has had almost 12,000 downloads since it was launched in early 2013.

The project was backed by the Union Learning Fund.
