Health and safety

EDF Energy is regulated by the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate and is more regulated than any other Energy Utility in Britain.

Prospect has union-backed safety representatives at all British Energy sites and they act as a protector for Health and safety constantly reminding British Energy managers of their responsibilities under the H+S at work Act 1974.

The safety representatives act as a focal point for employees safety concerns and will represent members views to the management.

There are local HESACS as required by law where all Trade Unions are represented.

There is a company Hesac which is the subject of a company review at present with the aim of making it more effective.
