Prospect Rosyth Royal Dockyard

ROSYTH ROYAL DOCKYARD BRANCH  (S131)

Prospect (branch 131) is the recognised union for collective bargaining, for non-industrial staff, based at the Rosyth Babcock site. Covering people in areas such as administration, information technology, design & engineering, supply chain & material control, project engineering & planning, scientific , supervision and middle management.

Though current news tends to be dominated by the assembly onsite of the Royal Navy’s new carriers, our members are involved in or have the capabilty for a diverse range of both onsite and offsite engineering. This can be in the Electrical & Mechanical fields, as well as the more traditional fields, normally associated with our dockyard legacy image. Renewables, offshore support and fabrication, prototypes, laser surveys & measurement, FRP repair & Lay-up, are just a few of the areas our members become involved in. There is substantial diversification complementry to the traditional ship refit / assembley general perception of Rosyth.

The Branch is of course substantially supported by Prospect’s full time officers, oraganisers, specialist advisers, legal knowledge & facilities, and publications.

Senior management and those excluded by individual contracts, and are therefore outwith the collective bargaining  arrangement, may still be represented by Prospect via the Scottish branch based in Edinburgh.

The views expressed on this site are not necessarily the views of Prospect nationally.
