Over the past number of months, we have seen an acceleration of the attacks on our members working in the civil service and beyond. Whilst we have yet to get a clear view of the new government’s approach - the summary dismissal of Tom Scholar at the Treasury, comments about public sector pay as part of the Conservative Party leadership campaign and an ideological driven desire to “shrink the state” via deregulation provide no grounds for optimism - quite the opposite.
