Air traffic controllers' union Prospect has warned Inglis Lyon, chief executive of Highlands and Islands Airport Ltd to stop ‘antagonising’ staff with misleading claims and focus on persuading the Scottish Government to help resolve the dispute.

After a year of negotiations, most recently a total failure on the part of HIAL to come back to the table with an improved offer, we have reached the unacceptable situation where HIAL management say ministers responsible for resolving the dispute, while the First Minister says it HIAL which is responsible.

Following the breakdown of talks at ACAS last week, Prospect has today (Thursday 9 May) announced a new day of strike action on Thursday 23 May as part of the ongoing air traffic controllers’ dispute dating back to April 2018.
