Give something back - volunteer with us
Volunteer reps are Prospect's workplace heroes, giving up some of their time to help colleagues. MoD supports this work with paid time off for trade union work directly concerned with MoD's operations, such as advising and representing colleagues or taking part in negotiation or consultation over work-related issues.
Thanks to our volunteers, Prospect keeps in touch with members in MoD and can be truly representative in giving you a voice at work. Volunteers also help to resolve concerns before they become a problem and to nip potential issues in the bud through good relations with TLB and local management.
Volunteering with Prospect will put you in touch with a network of reps across MoD and will help you develop your abilities in key Civil Service competencies such as Seeing the Big Picture, Changing and Improving, and Collaborating and Partnering. And you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you've made a difference for your colleagues in MoD, whether by supporting one individual or by influencing a decision that affects everyone.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following:
- being a local point of contact
- helping and advising Prospect members
- monitoring health, safety and environment issues
- engaging with MoD in consultation over working arrangements and reorganisations
If you would like to be a part of this work, or if you are interested in exploring other options, please contact our MoD Organiser, Rob Lauder, on 07834 451 785.
