Tate is a family of four art galleries housing the UK's collection of British art from the 1500’s onwards and international modern art.
Prospect is one of the three trade unions formally recognised by Tate and we represent a range of specialist and professional staff including Conservators and Conservation Technicians, Curators, Assistant Curators and Exhibitions, Art Handlers, Photographers, Scientists, Visitor Services/Experience Managers and Assistants, AV Technicians, Senior Managers and many other staff grades. The Tate Branch currently has around 150 members in it.
The Branch represents members on all matters including pay, grading and terms and conditions as well as providing individual representation where necessary. Recently Prospect has been successful in securing pay increases in excess of the Government limit and has made progress in dealing with problems of a lack of pay progression. The Branch is also active in relation to the issues that many departments are facing and has in the last few years supported members in the reviews of Visitor Services, Collections Care, Learning, Tate Liverpool and Tate Britain Curatorial.
