Consultation period for Sessional Chaplains to consider employment status proposals ends 31 March 2016

For some time now Prospect has been engaged in negotiations with NOMS over the pay and terms and conditions of Sessional Chaplains.

Negotiations have now concluded. Unfortunately we cannot make a recommendation as we have been unable to secure permanent employment status, but proposals include an offer of a 2 year fixed term contract, compensation and safeguards which will benefit some but not all individuals. Proposals have been issued and circulated to members (click here to view branch update).

NOMS will be sending those who qualify a preference letter by email, which should be returned before 31 March 2016 by those who wish to accept. Those who wish to remain as sessional staff are entitled to do so but as currently there is no guarantee of sessional hours. Email any queries to [email protected]
