UK women in nuclear pool skills for their industry

Women in the UK nuclear industry have linked up to address the sector's gender balance, improve the numbers of women in leadership and engage with the public on nuclear issues

Women in Nuclear UK will be formally launched at a conference in London in January. WiN UK is part of Women in Nuclear Global, which has 25,000 members in 102 countries.

The conference will be held on 20 January, 2015 in London. Speakers include:

WiN UK is working closely with organisations including the Nuclear Industry Association and the Nuclear Industry Council to ensure that as many people as possible hear the sector’s positive message.

While the conference marks the formal launch of the group, WiN UK has had an executive board since early 2014.

The board includes high-performing women from across the industry’s operators, vendors, consultancies, contractors and small and medium-sized enterprises. Prospect national secretary Gill Wood is an associate board member.

Membership is free and not just limited to women. WiN UK is eager to engage senior men in the industry who recognise the specific issues facing women.
