Designed for reps or prospective union reps. This course is for you if you are keen to develop your knowledge on how pensions work with a view to assisting fellow Prospect members. We would expect you to have an interest in becoming either a pension rep or a pension champion rep.

You do not need a prior understanding of pensions, you will be given an overview of state and workplace pensions, including covering main types of pension schemes, how they work and options available to members.

A one day course run via Zoom on a laptop or computer with a webcam so you can fully participate in the course.

After successfully completing this course you may want to progress to our 'Pension Champions' course, which has two streams: Public Service Sector for reps of branches with employers offering a public sector pension or for reps of branches in the private sector.

You can join from 10:00 am to allow time to familiarise yourself with Zoom.

10:15 to 10:30 - Introductions

13:45 to 14:00 - Prospect and Pensions
