Justice for Colombia nominated for two awards

Justice for Colombia has been nominated Best Human Rights Organisation in this year's Latin UK Awards (LUKAS) and its Director, Mariela Kohon, has been nominated best human rights campaigner.

Prospect has a long-standing connection with JFC, a British NGO that campaigns for human rights, workers' rights and the search for peace with social justice in Colombia.

The LUKAS awards celebrate the contribution of Britain's Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese communities to British society.

Voting for nominees opened on 15 November and the awards ceremony will take place in March 2013.

Winning the award would give an important publicity boost to JFC and mean recognition for years of work dedicated to human rights in Colombia.

Please lend your support by voting for JFC as best human rights organisation, and for JFC director Mariela Kohon as best human rights campaigner.

The news follows a recent high profile cross party delegation of northern Irish politicians to Colombia, as part of JFC's campaign for peace and social justice in Colombia.
